Withdrawal from Ph.D. Program

If a student decides not to complete the Ph.D., they must formally withdraw from the program in writing. To resume study after withdrawal requires reapplication to the program. Students who withdraw or are withdrawn from their programs and who subsequently are readmitted to their program must register retroactively for three of every four of the intervening quarters from the time of withdrawal until the time of resumption of study or for all quarters from the time of withdrawal until the time of resumption of study, depending on the program requirements.

The student must pay tuition at the rate that is current at the time of reentry for retroactively registered quarters and a reinstatement fee of $150 per quarter for each of these quarters. Fellowship support is not guaranteed upon readmission.
